A reflection on conscious becoming, choice points, and the energy we bring to the world.
I had the opportunity to attend and serve on Team for Shematrix ClearFlame Retreat in Austin last week — an experience the facilitators lovingly described as ropes course meets consciousness.
And it truly was.
A dance between embodied challenge and expanded awareness.
Between the physical and the energetic.
Between who we’ve been… and who we are becoming.
There were many profound moments throughout the retreat, but one experience has continued to echo through my awareness, shaping how I think about consciousness, presence, and the energy I bring into the environments around me.
It arrived through a practice called Conscious Becomings—an earth-based meditation that invites us to become one with the nature around us—not to observe it, but to enter into relational presence with it.
The Exchange
As I settled into the practice, I found myself watching an adorable, busy squirrel in a nearby tree.
He was fully in his busy squirrel way.
Eating.
Moving.
Tail twitching back and forth.
Scanning his surroundings.
Busy doing all the busy squirrel things.
I observed him and went deep into the practice of Conscious Becoming.
And then he noticed me.
There was a pause.
An exchange.
He stared right back at me, and in that moment, something opened.
From my heart space, I shared a burst of love toward him with grounded presence.
And slowly… he began to settle.
First, he lowered his body onto the branch, still slightly unsettled.
His tail twitched a bit.
His head remained perched up.
I stayed centered. Connected. Soft.
And I offered more love from my heart space.
Then his tail completely softened.
His body melted into the branch.
And he laid his head down on top of his tiny paws.
It was the sweetest, most tender exchange.
We stayed like that together for another minute or so — simply resting in shared stillness — before we each went on our way.
But the moment did not end there.
The Message That Followed
As I walked away, a message came through with striking clarity:
Be aware of the energy you bring to the environments around you.
The power of our state of being matters.
And in later reflection, I was reminded of the deeper truth within consciousness work:
If we want to see a world rooted in peace…
We must embody peace.
If we want to see love and care in the world…
We must become love and care.
We cannot separate ourselves from the reality we long for.
We cannot say we desire harmony while embodying discord.
They are one and the same.
We are the field through which the future is shaped.
A Collective Choice Point
Astrologically and energetically, we are standing at a fork in the road.
A collective choice point.
We can continue to exist as we always have—repeating the same patterns and expecting different outcomes.
Or…
We can choose a new way of being.
We can choose compassion.
We can choose love.
We can choose presence.
There is a significant energetic shift unfolding astrologically, energetically, and collectively.
Energy is beginning to move quickly.
Think of it like the wild card in Uno — it can advance the game or set you back, depending on how it’s played.
As we’re already witnessing:
Foundations built on love and trust will move mountains.
Foundations built on distortion or corruption will crumble.
So the question becomes: Where are you building from?
Focus as a Superpower
At this choice point, our focus becomes a sacred tool.
What we focus on strengthens.
So we are being invited to ask:
- Where is my attention going?
- Am I feeding fear or feeding love?
- Am I embodying compassion or absorbing chaos?
- Am I centered… or pulled outward?
This is a powerful time for truth.
For aligning with what is true for you — not externally dictated truth, but soul truth.
The familiar question arises: If not now, when?
That inquiry has never felt more alive.
Spiritual Authority & Responsibility
With awakening, both the collective and the individual bear responsibility.
A responsibility to:
- Care for our nervous systems
- Be aware of our presence
- Stay centered within ourselves
- Ground before we lead
- Regulate before we respond
Being centered is not passive — it is intentionally active.
When we are anchored in our center:
We help others regulate.
We dismantle outdated ways of being.
We become stabilizing forces in uncertain times.
We become the calm within the storm.
Rebirth & Our Role
It feels undeniable that our planet is moving through her own rebirth.
Gaia is shifting.
And grounded human presence is essential during times of planetary transition.
Those with the capacity to hold calm, coherent energy are being called forward.
To steady.
To soften.
To stabilize.
To embody what the world is asking to become.
The Gift of the Squirrel
All of this takes me back to the simplicity of the exchange between the squirrel and me. I was gifted something quite beautiful:
The power of my presence.
And the responsibility that comes with it.
Power as coherence.
Power as love.
Power as regulation.
Power as embodied peace.
An invitation not just for me, but for all of us.
The Invitation
To be pure in heart.
To be intentional in exchange.
To bring love into the spaces we enter.
There will be distractions.
Some heartbreaking.
Some enraging.
Some designed to pull us from our center.
And still —
We are asked to choose:
Love.
Peace.
Gratitude.
The good.
Again and again.
Because this is how we alchemize what is unfolding on our planet.
Not by bypassing reality, but by embodying the frequency capable of transforming it.
In the way of the squirrel.
Softening.
Settling.
Resting in trust.
May we remember:
Our presence is always shaping the field. And the world we long for begins in the energy we choose to carry.
With cosmic love,
Bonnie
