How Are You Manifesting Your Reality And Dreams?
Manifestation is an ancient practice claiming the universe will bring forth events and experiences into your life through the energy you put into the world. It is based on the law of attraction that positive or negative thoughts have the power to create your reality.
In more recent times, it was the focus of the 2006 bestselling book, The Secret, and it is a principle that today’s new age leaders, such as Lacy Phillips, Gabrielle Bernstein, Deepak Chopra, and even Oprah, believe themselves.
“Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it.”
– Maya Angelou
Keep in mind that manifestations do not happen overnight and require you to take aligned action toward your dreams. It can also be a lengthy process, especially if your goals require a massive uplevel. But if you speak to anyone that has manifested their dreams (check out the To Be Magnetic community), they’ll assure you the practice and patience were worth it.
Clarity + Intention + Aligned Action = Manifestation
– Bonnie Hazen
It is also important to note that manifesting is NOT writing an imaginary check to yourself, and the cash will magically arrive (although Jim Carrey’s story is pretty remarkable). The energetics of manifestation does not work that way; alignment with your authentic self and understanding your core needs are essential.
And, here’s the other thing, not everything you want to manifest is meant for you. If you do this work, aligning yourself with your heart and your authentic self is essential. Why? Manifestation doesn’t align with ego; it aligns with your unique purpose.
Getting Started
If you’re curious, I invite you to explore the visualization practice below.
- Sight/Vision: Inspiration board (Pinterest), Images, etc.
- Sound: Music, Nature, Podcasts, TV
- Smell: Food, Candles, Herbs, Nature
- Taste: Food, Herbs, Ocean Air, Mountain Air
- Touch: Pets, Linens, Partners,
- Experience/Emotional Connection: What does the morning routine feel like? What does dinner feel like? What does your day feel like?
For example, you want to manifest a trip to France. Your manifestation practice could look like the following:
- Sight/Vision: Inspiration board (Pinterest) with the specific activities and locations you want to visit in France.
- Sound: Listen to podcasts or music in French, watch movies filmed in France, etc.
- Smell: Burn French lavender candles or cook French cuisine.
- Taste: Eat at French restaurants or cook French cuisine.
- Touch: Envision the linens of the room where you’re staying in France or holding hands with your partner as you walk the streets of France.
- Experience/Emotional Connection: Visualize what it would be like to drink coffee in the morning while you’re in France or where you’re eating for dinner on your first night in France.
This practice is simple and easy to follow, which is why it is a great place to start. The act of even giving yourself permission to dream is a huge energetic shift. It awakens your subconscious and plants the seed for your manifestations and dreams.
“The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy.”
– florence Shovel Shinn
Aligned Action
As you begin your journey, it is encouraged that you look at your life holistically to ensure that your dreams and actions align. A few things to consider are:
- Do your actions align with your life vision?
- Do your goals align with your life vision?
- Do your habits align with your goals?
- How do you hold yourself accountable for your life vision?
“The deeper you connect with the why, the more magnetic you become.”
– Bonnie Hazen
There is absolutely an element of aligned action when manifesting your dreams and goals. Manifestation should not be mistaken for hustle or hustle culture. There is a difference between running after dreams and burning yourself out and taking clear and aligned steps to your desired life. When you live your life and operate from a place of hustle and burnout, you attract more of what you don’t want in your life. When you are aligned with your authentic self, the people, events, and opportunities are attracted to you. Life can be truly beautiful when you are clear, confident, and aligned with intentional action.
